Individuals who will be undergraduate or graduate students in the 2026 fall semester are eligible to apply for our 2026 Fall Conference Student Conducting Masterclass. In order to apply, you will need a recommendation of a current professor or teacher, a completed application, and a video of the applicant’s conducting. Applicants will be evaluated by a panel of conducting teachers who have no association with the applicants, and will use the rubric linked here to evaluate conductors. Invited student conductors will participate in the Intercollegiate Honor Choir with Dr. Derick Fox, and will receive complimentary conference registration.
Clinician: Dr. Jerry Blackstone & Dr. Derrick Fox
Demonstration Choir: The Eastern Michigan University Choir, Dr. Brandon Johnson, conductor
Masterclass procedure: Four conductors will be chosen, and each conductor will receive 15-17 minutes to work on their selection.

- Flight Song, Kim André Arnesen (Undergraduate Repertoire)
*It is expected that students will purchase their own scores for preparation.
