ACDA-Michigan Fall Conference Treble Choir

We are excited to announce and invite treble voice singers to participate in the  2023 ACDA Michigan Treble Voice Choir. This multigenerational choir is open to high school, college and community choirs as well as individual ACDA members who want to sing together. The Fall Treble Choir will be featured at the ACDA-MI Fall Conference on Saturday,  October. 21, 2023 at Central Michigan University. The choir will be conducted by Pearl Shangkuan, Director of Choral Activities at Calvin University and President-Elect for the National American Choral Directors Association.
The goal of this fall choir is to bring together treble voice singers who enjoy making music together and sharing the journey with like minded musicians. Full treble voiced ensembles, selected members of an ensemble or individual singers may participate. Having balanced sections is necessary so directors are asked to include equal numbers of Sopranos I & II and Altos I & II.

Participants will be expected to learn the music prior to regional rehearsals – Saturday, October 7, 2023. Regional rehearsals will be held to bring participating singers together to make sure music is learned and ready for final rehearsals prior to working with Dr. Shangkuan. Final rehearsals will occur on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21 at Central Michigan University. The final performance will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday.

In order to underwrite some of the costs associated with this activity, there will be a $10/singer fee when final registration occurs in mid-September. Directors and individuals wishing to participate are asked to complete the google form by June 1, 2023 so we can get an idea of how many singers are seriously interested.

Please take a moment to complete the ACDA – Michigan Fall Multigenerational Interest Survey by June 1. This will help us prepare repertoire and other organizational pieces for this event.
